Las Segadas Lodge Launches on the Chilean Rio Grande

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our newest expedition: Las Segadas Lodge, set deep in the heart of Chilean Tierra del Fuego on one of the most fabled sea-run brown trout rivers on Earth – the Rio Grande.
THE RIO, REIMAGINED
You’ve heard of the Rio Grande – the mile-wide lower lagoons, the moody skies, the trout of a lifetime. But you haven’t experienced it like this. Las Segadas Lodge offers exclusive access to over 100 miles of prime water, just on the Chilean stretch of the Rio Grande, far from the crowds, and with tributaries and creeks to explore also.
This isn’t just another trip. It’s a true frontier expedition.
WILD, REMOTE, AND HOME FOR ONLY SIX ANGLERS
Guests fly into Pampa Guanaco, via Punta Arenas, deep into southern Patagonia, and are met by guides for a short transfer to the lodge. From there, it’s seven full days of guided fly fishing, exploring massive, untouched beats across estancia land that will see fewer anglers in a season than most lower sections see in a week.

Set in windswept isolation, Las Segadas is purpose-built for the serious angler. Cozy, warm, and welcoming without the fluff. Expect hot meals, wood fires, local Chilean wines – and early morning starts to chase chrome ghosts under Patagonian skies.
Our launch announcement coincides with a decision by the Chilean Government to mandate Catch and Release across all of the Rio Grande from next season (2025/26) and the use of only barbless single hooks on the main rivers crossing our estancia as well as some nearby lakes.
