CISNES RIVER LODGE,
AYSÉN, CHILE

FLY FISH THE RÍO CISNES IN CHILEAN PATAGONIA

A BOUTIQUE LODGE BESIDE ONE OF AYSÉN'S WILDEST RIVER SYSTEMS

Cisnes River Lodge sits on the banks of the Río Cisnes in Chile's Aysén region, beyond Coyhaique in a landscape of forest, mountains and clear Patagonian water. It is a deliberately small operation, accommodating up to six anglers and their companions.

The home river supports wild brown and rainbow trout and can be explored by drift boat or on foot. Tributaries, channels and nearby lakes expand the program, allowing the guides to adjust each day around water levels, weather, seasonal insect activity and the interests of the anglers.

The lodge has double-occupancy rooms for up to six anglers, retaining limited flexibility for single-room and host accommodation during selected trips.

SEVEN NIGHTS AND SIX GUIDED FISHING DAYS

This brand new lodge opens in December 2026, with its first season running from January to March 2027. The seven-night package is US$6,150 per angler, based on double occupancy and two anglers sharing a guide and drift boat. Contact us for current availability and the most practical itinerary through Chile.

THE RÍO CISNES

THE FISHING

The Río Cisnes is the centre of the programme. Its clear flows, varied structure and changing character support wild brown and rainbow trout, with opportunities ranging from dry-fly fishing to nymphs and streamers. Anglers can fish from drift boats or explore selected water on foot.

Dry-fly fishing is a defining attraction. Seasonal hatches and terrestrial activity can bring trout to the surface, while the guides retain the flexibility to change technique as conditions dictate. Chinook salmon may be encountered as a seasonal by-catch, but they are not typically targeted.

Tributaries, channels and nearby lakes can be incorporated when conditions and access are suitable. More adventurous overnight outings may also be arranged for guests who want to extend the experience beyond a conventional day trip.

THE LODGE

Cisnes River Lodge has been designed for a maximum of six anglers and their companions. Guest rooms face the river and surrounding mountains. The shared living room, dining area and bar are arranged around a large fireplace. Outside, a traditional hot tub and fire pit provide places to unwind after fishing.

FOOD AND HOSPITALITY

A French chef leads the kitchen, combining Chilean ingredients with international influences. Meals, wines and relaxed hospitality are intended to feel integral to the lodge week.

A TYPICAL DAY

After breakfast, anglers leave with their guides for a full day on the river, tributaries or nearby lakes. Lunch is served on the water. The route, water and technique remain flexible so each day can respond to conditions and the priorities of the anglers. Guests return for drinks, dinner and time around the fire.

WHY FISH CISNES RIVER LODGE?

Cisnes River Lodge combines a clear, varied home river with the intimacy of a boutique operation. The fishing can move between drift boat and wading, dry flies and streamers, the main channel and smaller water, without losing the sense of being based beside one coherent river system.

Its position in Aysén gives anglers a strong Chilean location near Coyhaique as a remote lodge week or part of a broader journey through Chilean Patagonia.

The appeal is straightforward: wild trout in good numbers, low guest numbers, flexible guiding and a comfortable lodge in genuinely remote country.
