Aitutaki Hosted TRIP August 2026

AUGUST 2026
AITUTAKI – Hosted FLY FISHING Trip

AUGUST 16-23, 2026: AITUTAKI HOSTED SALTWATER FLY FISHING TRIP

Join us in August 2026 for an exclusive hosted expedition to one of the South Pacific’s most remarkable fly fishing locations. Aitutaki’s vast turquoise lagoon, rimmed by coral motus and white-sand flats, sets the stage for an extraordinary week of sight-fishing.

Unlike our more rugged Fanning Island adventure, this week is designed for anglers who want both world-class fishing and boutique comfort. We base ourselves right on the beach at Aitutaki Village, where you’ll enjoy fresh island cuisine, lagoon views, and seamless access to the water.

Over six full fishing days, you’ll stalk trophy bonefish across gin-clear flats and test your skills against trevally—including the occasional giant trevally. Local guides with years of experience on the lagoon will lead you to the most productive areas, ensuring long, rewarding days on the water.

This is not a generic package. It’s a carefully timed week, built around the best tides and moon phase for flats fishing. With only six rods available, every angler enjoys personalized hosting and attentive support from our team. Evenings are relaxed and social, with great food and cold drinks shared right at the water’s edge.

Spaces are strictly limited, and once the roster is filled, it’s gone until next season. Secure your place now for an unforgettable week of fishing, hosting, and island hospitality in the Cook Islands.

GENERAL BOOKING INFORMATION

TRIP ENQUIRIES

Please contact us by sending us a message via our Contact Form, or calling us to discuss availability.

We will share more trip information with you via email and phone to discuss this adventure, answer your questions and understand more about your saltwater fly fishing experience and what you’re looking for from this trip.

SKILL LEVEL

You do NOT need to be an expert saltwater fly angler to enjoy this hosted trip. We, together with your guide, will assist you throughout the trip. Being able to cast proficiently is a prerequisite though, for all saltwater fly fishing. You should be able to cast bonefish flies into wind with your 7-9 weight single handed rod and use a 10-12 weight single handed rod if you are pursuing the numerous giant trevally that frequent the lagoon.

WEATHER

Aitutaki enjoys a consistently warm, tropical climate year-round, with daytime temperatures hovering around 77–84°F (25–29°C). Trade winds are common across the lagoon, and you can expect brief rain showers in August to roll through without warning, usually passing quickly.

A light rain jacket is essential, along with a hoody or vest for breezy boat rides between fishing spots. Sun protection is equally critical: bring reef-safe sunscreen, quality sun-protective clothing, a Buff and gloves, a wide-brimmed hat (plus a backup cap), and lip balm with SPF. We’ll keep plenty of cold water in the chilly bin to help you stay hydrated during long days on the flats.

HOSTED TRIPS: SATELLITE PHONE/MESSAGING

We carry multiple Garmin Inreach Mini2 messaging devices, an Iridium Extreme Satellite Telephone and a Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) on every hosted trip. There is WiFi at the bungalows so you can access the outside world as much (or as little) as you choose to. Vodafone is the sole cellular provider on Rarotonga and Aitutaki and an eSIM for roaming can be purchased at the airport.

In the event of a major medical emergency, we will have direct contact with Global Rescue (or whomever you are insured with) for urgent evacuation to Rarotonga and beyond.

FARE PAYMENT

The fare for this expedition is outlined on this page in US Dollars (USD$) and will not change after final confirmation of your booking (confirmed by receipt of your deposit payment to Isolation Outfitters), regardless of any fluctuations in international currency, fuel or travel costs. A detailed list of what is included is provided with your booking confirmation. Individual anglers are invoiced separately or together as you wish.

Currency: Payment can be made in US Dollars (USD$) into our Montana USA deposit account or our New Zealand bank account as you choose. If you wish to pay in NZ Dollars (NZD$), we will agree a suitable foreign exchange rate into NZD$ from your preferred currency at the time of booking.

Credit Cards: Alternatively you may wish to pay by credit card. We accept most major international credit cards and can provide a link for online payments.

Deposit: A deposit of 50% of the fare is payable to confirm your booking. Payment of deposit is deemed acceptance of our Terms and Conditions. Hosted trips have limited spaces and require a deposit payment to secure your space.

Remaining Fare: We require settlement of your full account 90 days before the trip proceeds. All anglers will need to show proof of comprehensive travel insurance and any required medical insurance at this time.

Additional Travel or Tackle: We can arrange additional sightseeing trips, or offshore fishing, and provide fishing gear for you to retain after the trip is completed. Any costs for these will be invoiced directly to you and are payable before the trip commences. Any additional trip preferences, changes to the expedition travel, or specialist gear obtained on your behalf at your request will be payable on invoice.

SINGLE ANGLER EXPEDITIONS

Our Aitutaki Hosted Trip is priced for two anglers sharing a twin room (double occupancy, shared guide/boat). If you are a single angler wanting to be 1:1` guided without another angler sharing the boat, we have provided a price for this scenario. If you are planning to come as a single angler, but looking for double occupancy, please advise us and we will do our best to accommodate you with another willing single angler to reduce your trip fare.

Please contact us to discuss pricing for single occupancy/shared boat/guide accommodation or single boat/guide and shared occupancy.
